This year, Anne requested for me to include her and her family into the photo session.  She wanted me to capture images of her mother; grandma.  This is because grandma was diagnosed with stomach cancer and Anne wanted this session to be special for the family.  I met grandma a few years back.  She was a very genuinely nice, but quiet lady.  Maybe it was the language barrier, but she was very helpful with everything that I needed for the shoot.  When Anne told me the story of her mother’s health condition, I couldn’t believe how quickly that happened.  Anne sounded so strong, like she always has.

This is what makes my job so rewarding.  I help families, like Anne’s family, document memories of their loved ones.  I help my clients document the special moments of their lives.  May it be happy or sad, it’s a part of them.  I lost my dad 6+ years ago to liver cancer.  I know how it feels to lose a close family member.  I was grateful that my friend Jason was there to help me capture images of my family when my dad was alive.

Anne, thank you for having me there.  It was such an honor to be able to capture these photos of grandma for your family.  I know you will cherish these forever.
